Equality policy

ilateral is committed to equal opportunities and to treating every individual with dignity and respect.

Our aim is to ensure that all job applicants and employees are treated fairly, with no direct or indirect discrimination on the grounds of sex, marital status, race, colour, religion, nationality, creed, ethnic
or national origins, age, sexual preference, disability or other conditions not justified on law or relevant to their performance of the job.

Individuals will in all instances be treated according to their abilities and merits, and their suitability to the job’s requirements. Wherever possible we’ll make reasonable changes to the work environment so employees with special needs are given the same opportunities as the able-bodied.

We recognise the importance of staff cooperation to this policy’s success. Each employee must help remove or change practices that lead to discrimination, whether directly or indirectly.

Laws we comply with:

  • Sex discrimination act 1975
  • Race relations Act 1976
  • Disability Discrimination Act 1995
  • Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006

All staff should work to promote best practice in equal opportunities.

All staff are expected to behave in a nondiscriminatory way. ilateral won’t tolerate actions or words that reflect prejudice against people on the basis of their disability, gender, age, religion, race, sexual orientation, colour, national or ethnic origin, or that are against the spirit of our policy.

Any breach of this rule is taken very seriously. If it is broken, the member of staff can expect to be disciplined. Serious breaches can lead to dismissal.
